Ugh, Moniker support
It’s that time of year again (or rather it was, last week) - time to renew the domains. I like to do them all at once, like ripping off a bandaid, so I don’t have domain renewals spread out through the year.
I head over to Moniker, our registrar, who I’ve been pretty happy with for the most part, but I’ve never used their new site. I add all the domains I want to renew to the “renew immediately” list and… nothing.
I try again a few more times, getting spammed with emails about it, but no visible way to pay for it. I’m starting to think I may have to do a wire transfer to these assholes - is there really no other way?
I file a ticket to let them know how I feel (in retrospect I was probably a bit of an asshole myself):
Hi there,
No offense, but your new site is terrible. I have a domain expiring in 10 days, and I want to renew all but one of my domains right now so I don’t have to worry about paying for them at all for another year. I used to be able to do that by picking to bulk renew them, then it’d add them to my cart and I could enter a credit card number or paypal information.
How do I go about doing this? The emails the system sent me multiple times are next to useless.
Thanks so much for your time!
About ten minutes after the ticket is filed I get an email with the invoice, with instructions on how to pay it. I feel rather sheepish, but I still reckon the site could have gone to a bit more trouble to explain how the process works. Fast forward to yesterday and I get a response back:
We do apologize for the delay in replying.
I understand that you would like to cancel domain renewal(s).
A successfully processed renewal is firm and non-refundable.
To make sure that any domains that you do not want to be renewed, please do the following:
* Navigate to Renew/Delete Domains
* Under the Renewaloption column dropdown, select “Delete after grace period” for each domain you do not want to have renewed.
* Verify Changes
* Save ChangesAfter a successful renewal, the new expiration date can be viewed under “My Domains” in the column “Expiration Date”.
