Asus Hero VIII - fixed?

I’ve been struggling for a couple years with the Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII in my desktop with a not-uncommon problem of it not coming on after being shut down, until you power-cycle the PSU.

While whining about it this week on Mastodon, I found a Reddit post mentioning “ErP S4+S5” as a potential workaround, and I finally got around to trying it.

It’s enabled somewhere in the BIOS (yeah yeah, UEFI, fuck off), under something like “Advanced”, then “APM Configuration” or whatever. Turn it on, play for a bit, turn the PC off.

Next day, push the power button and there’s a brief delay before it powers up, but I’ve had it on for about a week now and can confirm that I haven’t had an issue yet. Of course, I said that last time too…
