Christmas Dinner with the family
After what seemed like a week of preparation, and reorganizing our new dining space with additional trestle tables to accomodate everyone, my family started showing up at 11:30-ish. Tiabeanie doesn’t particularly care for loud noises, and my family are not the quietest, but she kept her shit together until folks started doing Christmas crackers, when she wanted outside.
Ate a really good lunch, stopping myself at a single plate because last year I went back and then didn’t have room for the desserts I wanted. Then proceeded to eat too much dessert (Sabriena made pumpkin pie, fuck yeah), so I took the dog across the street to run out some of her anxiety and walk off some of my food-pregnancy, then came back to Dad talking Flip’s ear off about truck driving stories, one of his favourite hobbies.
Quite an enjoyable afternoon really, the weather cooperated (probably couldn’t have asked for nicer weather really), and we shoved folks out the door with as much food as we could convince them to take before going to bed early.
